SKSE Features

Although Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is not required for my mod, users who do have it will have access to SKSE only features. My mod checks if you have SKSE each time you load the game, so you don't have to do anything to enable these features.

Currently these are the features enabled with SKSE.
  • The inventory menu will close when you take an animal's carcass.

  • No Perks version users are able to spend perk points in Path of the Hunter to unlock the perks.

  • Realistic Skinning System animation. Without SKSE after skinning the camera will default to third person. With SKSE it will remember which setting the camera was on before skinning started, force third person to skin, and put it back.

  • Carcass Skinning System animation. Without SKSE the animation for taking a carcass will play even if in first person, meaning the player doesn't see it. With SKSE it will remember which setting the camera was on before skinning started, force third person to skin, and put it back.

  • With implicit support for Dawnguard, Vale Deer Hides are only set to a value of 20 gold (from 10) with SKSE. Also the ability to improve a Vale Deer Hide is only possible with SKSE.

  • With implicit support for Dawnguard, Vale Sabre Cat Hides are only set to a value of 50 gold (from 10) with SKSE. Also the ability to improve a Vale Sabre Cat Hide is only possible with SKSE.

  • Carcass weights can be customised through mod options in Path of the Woodsman.

  • Some stats are now viewable in the journal/general stats pause menu -
    Combat Stats - Crafting Stats

Future possible features for SKSE users.
  • Trapping. When a trap becomes broken it's name will change to "Animal Trap (broken)". When repaired it will return to "Animal Trap".
  • Trapping. When bait for a specific animal that is known is added, the trap name will change to represent that animal when set. For example if the player knows that Venison & Honey attracts Bears, the trap name will change to "Bear Trap" when set.
